I recently started taking walks in my neighborhood. It has been beyond anything I could have imagined. I was so surprised because there is so much right around the corner from my apartment. I like the fact that I live in a busy city area. I live next to a Target Store, and several other little stores, but that is not what blew me away.

It was the rest of the neighborhood that made me appreciate where I live. Right now we have so much going on. You turn on news right now and the protest and the coronavirus. As a society we are suffering and in pain. Although we all need to step up and be a part of the movement, we also need to get away at times from all the things that worry us and make us sad. But sometimes we need to really take a break from the challenges during shelter in place.

And since it is so hard to get together with others, this is one way to see people. Even if you don’t know them, you can wave as you are walking down the street.

I also found out there is a lot going on in my neighborhood. There is a lawn bowling club and a youth program. Next to that there is a community swimming pool.

But the best thing that I enjoy the most is the houses, ones that are unique and creative.  I find it very interesting to explore the different architecture of the buildings. There are so many different types of design. It is just amazing!

It is just lovely to walk through the neighborhood, wave to all the people out jogging, bike riding, walking and more. My problems just blow away in the breeze. So if you need a break from the inside of your living environment and you need to get out; go for a walk and see what you can discover. It is a wellness tool we all can enjoy.
