Last Month American Civil Rights Leader and Congressmen, John Lewis passed away. His funeral was attended by three former US Presidents, as Lewis was a fixture of American political change and consciousness. Lewis was closely connected with Martin Luther King Jr. and marched for African-American voting rights in Selma, Washington and throughout the country in the 1960s. He was arrested over 40 times for civil disobedience and continued to work for civil rights, voting rights and the fair and just treatment of all people for his entire life. A documentary entitled “Good Trouble”, one of his main taglines was released in July of 2020 a few weeks before his death. Below is his commencement speech at Emory University in 2014.
