Pride is defined as a becoming or a dignified sense of what is due to oneself or one’s position or character; self-respect; self-esteem.
As you may know, June is Gay Pride Month in the U.S.A. There are festivities and parades across the country and all around the world that celebrate the diversity of people and the choices we have as human beings to love, express love and to be loved unconditionally by our fellow man without the fear of being ostracized or persecuted because of our personal preferences and beliefs.
I invite you to embrace those members of your families, communities and faith based organizations who identify with the LGBTIQ2-S community. You may not identify. You may not understand. You may not agree and that is your right just as it is the right of those that do identify, understand and agree. Let us try and overcome intolerance and begin to foster good will toward one another. Love is stronger than hate. Peace is stronger than contention. Compassion is stronger than ignorance.
Be who you are and be proud. Stand tall with dignity and know who you are and what you stand for.
Come to the 47th Annual San Francisco Pride Celebration & Parade on June 25, 2017. If you’ve never been and you like to party, you should definitely check it out. Oakland Pride will be celebrated on Sunday September 10th; downtown Oakland. Once again I invite you to join your brothers and sisters, sons and daughters, mothers and fathers etc. Join us as we embrace and support one another and celebrate life and love. Life is grand! It’s glorious! Life is to be happily lived. Peace! ~~K O Z I ~~
