For over a year, Americans have been coping with a health emergency of unprecedented impact. This upheaval has added to the institutionalized crisis of racism and racial oppression, and has created an alarming spike in anti-Asian violence in the Bay Area and beyond. The PEERS community unequivocally stands in solidarity with those who are directly and indirectly impacted by these hideous displays of racial antagonism.

As an organization, it is our mission and our passion to fight against stigma in all of its forms and to support the voices of underserved populations. False narratives and hate speech will not change our values. A staggering amount of assaults of Asian Americans are directed at elders, and we as a community are calling for protection for our more vulnerable members. We stand with the members of the Asian diaspora and against any and all forms of discrimination. For information about incidents of hate, violence, harassment, discrimination, and bullying against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, to report an incident, or for multilingual resources for responding, please see Stop AAPI Hate. For local chaperone services, please contact Compassion in Oakland.
