We’re happy to announce the addition of Louise Franklin to our team. Louise is joining us as Interim Executive Director. Here is a little bit about her, her experience, and her goals for our organization, in her own words:

Greetings!  I am happy and most honored to be able to introduce myself to you as PEERS’ new Interim Executive Director!  As I write this, I am starting my third week at PEERS but already I feel truly privileged to be a part of this organization.  I am so impressed by the level of commitment, professionalism and care demonstrated by both the staff and the board of directors.

My goal, as the Interim Director of PEERS, is to support a skillful and thorough search process for the next permanent director.  Additionally, I will provide general oversight of operations, deliverables and financial matters to ensure all goals and objectives are on track.  It is my goal to successfully build on the momentum of this transition in order for PEERS to emerge with a new leader and renewed energy, strength and purpose.

A bit about me:  For the past 14 years, I have specialized in consulting with non-profit organizations with emphasis on change and transition.  This includes executive coaching, board training, meeting facilitation and as an interim executive director.  I have worked with large and small nonprofits as well as hospitals, schools, county and state government, universities, communities of faith and families.  Additionally, I am a big believer in the power of peer support and the mission of PEERS.  Previously, I worked for many years with a community organization specializing in peer support for those coping with life-threatening illness, caregiving and bereavement.  I have witnessed what a difference the support of a peer can make.

In closing, I want to thank everyone for your warm welcome and again I am honored to join you in accomplishing the vital work of PEERS at this important time.
