On the final Friday of each month, PEERS screens a FREE movie that touches on mental health experiences. We show these movies on the large screen projector in our main conference room. Free snacks are provided to viewers who attend.

This month’s movie is “Mary and Max” on Friday, January 26th from 3:30 to 5:30pm. Stop by the PEERS office at 333 Hegenberger Rd. Suite 250, Oakland CA 94621 to take advantage of this opportunity!

A tale of friendship between two unlikely pen pals: Mary, a lonely, eight-year-old girl living in the suburbs of Melbourne, and Max, a forty-four-year old, severely obese man living in New York.

Cinema is an excellent way to bring people together and foster conversation about culturally salient or difficult topics. The Final Fridays movie series screens a mental health and wellness themed movie on the last Friday of the month. Participants are encouraged to engage critically with the subject-matter presented in the films.

Stay tuned for future selections!
