About Us

PEERS Teens And Young Adults (TYA) is a youth-driven and peer-centered program serving Alameda County Youth ages 16-24.

Our mission is to support and provide opportunities for teens and young adults to strengthen their personal and professional skills while developing leadership experience that can enhance their transition into adulthood.

Community Offerings

Youth Collective Fellowship

Youth Collective is a 5-month leadership and community engagement fellowship open to youth aged 16-24 who live in Alameda County.

During each cohort, Fellows become experts in managing their own wellness and exercise community leadership skills through hands-on, projects and workshops.

Youth Collective consists of two cohorts:

  • Fall/Winter Cohort:
    • September-January
  • Spring/Summer Cohort:
    • February-June

Youth Collective Mentorship

At the end of each Youth Collective cohort, fellows are eligible to become Youth Collective mentors. These mentors facilitate wellness workshops and provide peer support for the next round of Youth Collective fellows.

In addition to this hands-on experience in facilitation, storytelling, and peer support, Youth Collective mentors also gain connections to community resources and job opportunities. Ultimately, mentors get to deepen their community connections in intentional and supportive ways that center wellness.

Appointment Services

We offer free one-on-one appointment services open to youth in Alameda County.

We provide one-on-one peer support around resume building, job searching, and mentoring. Our appointment services are available weekly on Thursdays.

Wellness Workshops

These empowering and educational wellness workshops are free and open to the community. Through the TYA wellness workshops, youth gain new information, skills, and tools to support their wellness and are exposed to positive images and stories about mental health experiences.

The workshops are presented by youth in the Youth Collective program alongside PEERS TYA staff. By being in peer-to-peer spaces, youth have an increased sense of hope, empowerment, and connection to community, greater awareness that they have multiple options for supporting their wellness, and experience less internalized stigma.

Click through the TYA LinkTree to learn more about the program, request a Wellness Workshop, view open application forms, schedule an appointment, or to access a variety of wellness resources.
